Rules
Character Creation:
No El-Aurian, borg, android, or god-like characters. All others will be considered. Exceptions to this rule may be considered (specifically El-Aurian characters) if they are exceptionally well-written
Characters are not to be Mary Sues/Gary Sues (considered too perfect will little to no flaws). They are also not to have "Crusher syndrome" (continually taking the spotlight in a situation due to having exceptional abilities beyond their age/station). If these traits begin to develop in a character, we will warn you before they get too serious.
Characters are not to have any direct relation to canon characters. You cannot play Picard's grandson or Seven's daughter. You may mention your character having met or served under canon characters (serving under them can only be as a JO) but your character cannot have a strong connection with them.
AWOL player policy:
Any player that disappears for more than 30 days without prior notification will be considered AWOL. This includes players who make promises to return before falling silent again. After which time attempts to reach out will be made. If attempts to reach out fail, or a further 30 days pass since first being considered AWOL (a total of 60 days absent), whichever happens first; the AWOL player will be removed from the sim.
Code of Conduct:
Bullying, stalking, making derogatory remarks OOC (and unwarranted remarks IC) and any other form of harassment to any other player on the sim (or any other sim if it's reported to command staff) will NOT be tolerated and will operate on a one-warning policy (you get one warning before being removed).
Sexual harassment is zero tolerance. Do it and you are gone.
Tagging policy:
One tag every 2-3 days. This is to prevent holding up posts waiting on someone to tag in. Exceptions can be made if brought to Command Staff's attention.
If a post can be continued (i.e. a large JP with the entire crew) while leaving a tag in place, the tag will be kept for however long it may take to be gotten. If you are required to respond and do not, an NPC may be slotted into your place to perform required actions to move the plot along.
LOA Policy:
If a player thinks they will not be able to tag for an extensive period, they may use the "request LOA" feature. LOAs will almost always be accepted, however, the following guidelines are to be kept in mind when requestion an LOA:
1. If you are a Department Head and take an LOA longer than a month (Extended LOA), it will result in your assistant (if present) getting promoted to department head, and your character will be demoted to assistant.
2. We will not hold the assistant position for you if you are demoted as per #1. Nor will we hold the DH position for you if you do not have an assistant. These positions are often the most in-demand positions on a sim and they will not be held for players who will not be present for a month or longer. If you come back and the position is available, you may return to the position
Departing the Sim:
Sometimes players need to depart the sim. Whether this is due to time constraints, loss of interest, or other reasons. When this happens, if possible, a player will be given three options for their IC departure:
1. The character is reassigned off-camera. This enables a player to depart the sim without much IC notice. This will be the default option if a player is deemed AWOL or will not be present to play their character.
2. The character is reassigned and orders come in through the ship. This is a preferred amicable-departure option that allows the character to make guest appearances or even return to the sim later.
3. The character is killed off. This is an option, especially at the crucial moments of a mission, if a player has to leave the sim. This does not allow the character to return to the sim.
